Move For Hunger

Rodi Moving & Storage has been fortunate to serve the Miami area for over 40 years. We are committed to our customers and our community. Over those years, we have seen people reduce and discard many items before they relocate. Often, this included food.

Food is not something you normally move. It’s also something most people don’t think about as they plan their move. So, when moving day comes, there’s often food left in the cupboard and pantry, which frequently gets thrown in the trash as the last-minute clean out happens. Most of the food is perfectly good and often nonperishable.

Homeowners, in the midst of a move, can’t be expected to coordinate donations to the local food bank. But, as a moving company anchored in the community, we can. 

Rodi Moving & Storage is proud to join Move for Hunger, as part of the Mover Program, dedicated to reducing food waste and facilitating food donations from people who are moving to people in the community who need food assistance.

During a move, our customers can set aside their unopened, nonperishable food items. We’ll collect and box these items and ensure they make it to the local food bank. No stress, no waste.

In 2019, Move For Hunger provided more than 2.8 million meals through the Mover Program, held 1,525 food drives, and collected $150,000 for over 375,000 additional meals. This is a cause well worth joining!
