Fall Festivals to Check Out in Miami

Autumn is just around the corner — but when you live in tropical Miami, fall doesn’t mean cool days, frosty nights, and colorful foliage. Instead, fall offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy slightly less hot weather but still warm, sunny, and gorgeous.

And if you’re planning a Miami move, fall is a great time to check out all the activities, events, and festivals that make this lively city even more fun! Here are eight don’t-miss fall festivals taking place in Miami this autumn.

Dessert Wars Miami

Billed as the nation’s largest dessert festival, Dessert Wars Miami celebrates all things sweet. Sample cakes, cookies, ice creams, brownies, donuts, and other luscious treats from more than 50 local vendors. Head for the Miami State Fairgrounds in September to try all the goodies and vote for your favorites.

Oktoberfest(s)

Just up the road from Miami, the German American Society of Greater Hollywood, FL, throws not one, not two, but three Oktoberfest events across three fall weekends, starting at the end of September. So put on your Lederhosen and head to Hollywood to enjoy beer, brats, and Bavarian tunes played live.

Rock-N Fall Fest

Every October, the Rock-N Fall Fest transforms Royal Palm Beach’s Commons Park into a (not-so) spooky site for fun. This annual event offers cold beer, food, craft vendors, live tribute bands, a petting zoo, a corn maze, and costume contests that the whole family can enjoy. There’s even a haunted house if you’re feeling brave.

South Beach Seafood Festival

Thousands of seafood lovers descend on South Beach every October for the South Beach Seafood Festival. This week-long culinary extravaganza draws the best chefs in the region to work their magic on local seafood. Throw in live music, beverages, and culinary demonstrations galore, and it’s easy to see why there’s no better way to kick off Florida’s stone crab season.

Miami Carnival

For almost 40 years, Miami has celebrated Carnival around Columbus Day. There’ll be dancing in the streets — literally — as participants come from around the world to celebrate the cultures of the Caribbean. Carnival takes place across a week of events, culminating with a parade and concert.

Miami Water Lantern Festival

Take advantage of a visit to Tropical Park in mid-October for the Miami Water Lantern Festival. This annual event lights up the water with floating lanterns, setting the sky above and the water below sparkling. Enjoy food, music, games, and lantern-making at this family-friendly festival.

Country Bay Music Festival

Head to Miami Marine Stadium for the Country Bay Music Festival in November. You can listen to a line of A-list country music performers for two days. Throw in a great selection of eateries, cold drinks, and even carnival games to round out the weekend.

Miami Book Fair

Meet your favorite authors — and discover new ones — at the Miami Book Fair. For eight days in November, thousands of readers and hundreds of authors converge in Miami to talk about books, books, and more books. You won’t miss this premier literary event, from author signings to writing classes.
